This Privacy Policy describes how Family Dashboard accesses, uses, stores, and protects information provided through connected services, including Google Calendar.
Purpose of the application
Family Dashboard is a private household application used to display and manage family calendars, tasks, chores, groceries, weather, and other household information on a dedicated home dashboard.
Google user data
Family Dashboard may request access to Google Calendar data after a user explicitly authorizes the application.
Google Calendar data may be used to:
- display events from connected household calendars;
- display upcoming family schedule information;
- create events in an authorized family calendar;
- edit authorized family calendar events;
- identify calendar and event metadata needed for these functions.
Storage of Google data
Family Dashboard does not maintain a separate authoritative copy of Google Calendar events. Calendar information may be temporarily cached to improve dashboard performance and reliability.
OAuth tokens and related authorization information required to maintain the connection to Google services are stored on the private household server and are not exposed in the browser application.
Sharing of information
Google user data is not sold, rented, used for advertising, or shared with advertisers or data brokers.
Data is used only to provide the Family Dashboard functionality described in this policy.
Limited Use
Family Dashboard's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Security
The Family Dashboard application is hosted on a private household server. Access credentials and OAuth tokens are stored outside the public source code repository and are protected using restricted filesystem permissions and server-side controls.
Revoking access
Users may revoke Family Dashboard's access to their Google Account at any time through their Google Account security and connected-app settings.
Data retention
Authorization information is retained only while the Google Calendar connection is configured. Temporary cached calendar data may be retained for a limited period for application performance and resilience.
Removing the Google integration from Family Dashboard or revoking access from the user's Google Account prevents further access to Google Calendar data.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated if the application changes how it accesses or uses Google user data. The current version will remain available at this URL.
